Megan Burke joins nursing staff at UNHS BFP
Megan Burke is a native of Emery County who started working for UNHS, at the Blanding Family Practice Community Health Center, in mid-March.
Megan graduated from Emery County High School in 1991 and attended the College of Eastern Utah in Price, where she received her LPN in 1993. She went on to earn her RN certification from CEU in 1997. Later, she worked for two years in Women’s Services at Castleview Hospital, in Price, before moving to Blanding for a couple of years. Her husband, Garold Burke, grew up in San Juan County near the Hatch Trading Post.
After a brief stay in San Juan County, Megan and her family moved back to Emery County for twelve years. She worked for Castleview Hospital for six years, then in Home Care for three years in Carbon County, and four years in Early Intervention. Eventually, the Burkes moved back to San Juan County to be close to Garold’s family and Megan was hired by UNHS.
“I’m very excited about getting on with UNHS,” Megan said. “I love it here. The people are completely amazing and helpful.”
Megan and her husband have five children, including a 19-year-old son who is a U.S. Marine. He recently completed training at Camp Pendleton, in California. The couple also have a 17-year-old daughter and three sons aged 12, 10 and 9. All attend school in Blanding.
We’re glad to have Megan working at Blanding Family Practice and we wish her well at her new position. If you see her, say hello.
