New Lab Tech joins host of Blanding natives as part of BMH family
Another Blanding native has joined the ranks of Blue Mountain Hospital employees to begin the New Year.
Jayden Squires began working in the BMH Lab, as a Medical Lab Technician on January 5. Jayden completed his Medical Lab studies at Utah State University-Eastern, Blanding Campus at the end of the 2016 Spring Semester, under the tutelage of former BMH Lab Manager Ed York, and said he’s looking forward to beginning his career at Blue Mountain Hospital.
Jayden grew up in Blanding but graduated from North Sanpete High School, in Mount Pleasant, Utah, where he was a member of the Hawk’s wrestling team. He graduated in 2013 and attended one semester at Snow College, before returning to Blanding. He received his Associates Degree in Applied Science from USU-Eastern, Blanding Campus in 2015. While studying for his Associates Degree he explored a career in the medical profession, taking classes from Michele Lyman, PAC. During one of her classes, Ed York spoke to the students about a career as a Medical Laboratory Technician and Jayden decided that was the course he’d pursue. He spent time in the BMH Lab during his course work at USU-Eastern and said he was impressed with the Lab staff he will now be working with.
Jayden is the son of J.J. and Tammy Squires, of Blanding. His wife is also from Blanding. He and Emma Pratchen, a 2016 graduate of San Juan High, were married on July 30, 2016. Jayden said he’s excited to be working with BMH and the opportunity it gives him and his wife to live in Blanding and be near their family.
We’re glad to welcome Jayden to the BMH family and wish him all the best in his new career. When you see him around the hospital say hello.
