New maintenance man at Monument Valley
The newest member of the UNHS Monument Valley Community Health Center team is Keith Chief, who runs the Maintenance Department.
Keith grew up in Kayenta, Arizona and graduated from Monument Valley High School, in Kayenta, in 2002. He began working in construction at an early age, learning the trade from his father, Keith Chief, Sr. After twenty years experience, Keith’s main forte’ is framing, dry walling and remodeling, but he is skilled in most aspects of construction.
Keith started working with Utah Navajo Health System in January. Prior to joining UNHS he spent several years working with the Kayenta Unified School District, and for Peabody Western Coal Company. Most recently he worked with Tuba City Regional Medical Center, in Tuba City, Arizona. He said his experiences with the other three companies are similar to those he’s found at Monument Valley CHC. Keith is not the only member of his family working at the Monument Valley CHS. His wife Michele works in Patient Registration.
Keith and Michele have five children but only two are still at home. In his spare time, Keith enjoys fishing, camping and traveling. He said he is enjoying his new job with UNHS and enjoys the people he works with.
Another one of Keith’s responsibilities is overseeing the construction project at Navajo Mountain Community Health Center. He and his two brothers, Kenny and Kenneth are in the process of drywalling, painting and finishing the two new offices spaces and the addition to the pharmacy that will more than double the pharmacy space.
UNHS is happy to welcome Keith to the family and we look forward to working with him for a long time to come. If you see him around tell him hello.
