Kent Turek, Blue Mountain Hospital’s Director of Clinical Services, recently completed a Masters Degree in Business from the University of Utah, and received his diploma on August 4.
Turek also holds a Bachelors Degree in Nursing and is an RN. In 2013 he became Director of Nursing for BMH. His title was later changed to Director of Clinical Services. He achieved his Masters through a two-year distance learning program with University of Utah.
“My course work helped me with my job, while I was in the program,” Turek said. “I was able to use my knowledge immediately and now, after my course is completed, I will continue to use that knowledge.”
Blue Mountain Hospital’s Emergency Manager, Cari Spillman, also received her Bachelors Degree, while working for BMH.
Spillman earned her degree in Healthcare Administration from Kaplan University, in Davenport, Iowa. Her course work with Kaplan was done through an online course that allowed her to finish in 18 months. Prior to that, she earned an Associates Degree from the College of Eastern Utah – Blanding Campus in 1995.
“I couldn’t have received my degree without the help of Blue Mountain Hospital’s Tuition Reimbursement Program,” Cari said. “I’m very grateful for that assistance.”
Kudos to Kent and Cari.
