Dandy’s earn a second Scholarship Scramble Tourney win with 53 at Hideout Golf Club under the name of D&A Transport
A 53 by any other name is still a 53… and a win for the team of Nate Dandy, Joey Oliver, Delwin Dandy and Durk Knight, regardless of what their team is called.
This fantastic foursome recorded their second Scholarship Scramble Golf Tourney win in three years, last week, at the Hideout Golf Club, in Monticello. In 2017 the four called themselves the Dandy Team. This year they played under the name D & A Transport, but what’s in a name? Congratulations guys on another excellent win.
The San Juan Health team finished Second, four shots behind the winners, at 57. Team Lacy finished Third at 58.
Organizers of the tournament were San Juan Health and Blue Mountain Hospital. This is the third year the two health care providers have joined forces to sponsor this event that raises money to pay tuition for San Juan County residents studying for careers in the various health care fields. The hope is that these students will finish their studies and return to put their skills to good use in San Juan County. Since the tournament began in 2017, thousands of dollars in scholarship money has been awarded to local healthcare students in various fields of study.
Following the tournament a luncheon was held for the golfers and several door prizes were handed out. Winners of the Closest to the Pin and Straightest Drive were announced. Rich Bartlett won the Straightest Drive. Javen Ivins and Kyler Perkins won the Closest to the Pin on Holes #17 and #11.
San Juan Health and Blue Mountain Hospital thank all the sponsors, golfers and those who donated to the tournament for helping make this year’s event a success. Thanks, too, to the staff and administration from both San Juan Health and Blue Mountain Hospital for preparing the great food and helping with the tournament and luncheon. The scholarship winners from this tournament will be announced in the next few weeks. Thanks again to all who helped with this worthy cause. We look forward to doing it again next July.
Same team, same score, same result, different name…
It was another Dandy team win at last Friday’s Scholarship Scramble at the Hideout Golf Course, in Monticello. The four gentlemen shown above fired a round of 53 to take top honors. Top, from L-R the D & A Transport Team included: Nate Dandy, Joey Oliver, Delwin Dandy and Durk Knight. In 2017 this same team won the inaugural Scholarship Scramble with an identical score of 53. Congratulations on a fine round and a second tournament win. Thanks to all the golfers, sponsors and staff from San Juan Health and Blue Mountain Hospital, who helped make this year’s tournament a success. Thanks also to Tyler Ivins, Hideout Golf Pro, and all the staff at the Hideout Golf Club for their support. Staff Photo
